Description

Stability, precision and safety

The Bikejor Max was designed to provide precise and safe handling for bikejoring. It attaches directly to the head tube, above or below the down tubes, ensuring perfect compatibility with the majority of mountain bikes and scooters.

Unlike most systems available on the market, the Bikejor Max attaches directly to the frame and remains independent of the bike's steering. This provides more natural handling, better stability and significantly greater control both in corners and on technical terrain.

Its rubber flexible section effectively absorbs the jolts caused by the dog's changes in direction. When the dog pulls, the bar naturally tilts downward; as soon as the tension disappears, it automatically rises to prevent the leash from touching the wheel.

Main features

  • Quick and easy installation (2 nuts to screw on or unscrew).
  • Bar + flexible section can be removed in 5 seconds, without tools, for quickly switching from bikejoring to a regular ride.
  • Compatible with the vast majority of bikes, including tapered or oversize frames.
  • Lightweight, durable anodized aluminum bar.
  • Weight: 330 g in the 26/27.5" version - 350 g in the 29" version.
  • Additional mount available (sold separately) to equip a second bike without having to repurchase the entire system.
  • Made in France.

Technical requirements

  • Outer frame diameter (head tube): 40 to 70 mm.
  • Minimum space required for mounting: 7 mm.

Good to know

Installation instructions
The leash must be attached to the bicycle frame, never to the end of the bar. Attaching it to the end of the bar may cause the bar to break.
Tighten the nuts on the U-shaped rod evenly and symmetrically: the visible length of the rod must be identical on both sides.
We recommend cutting the U-shaped rod shorter with a hacksaw, leaving an extra 1 to 2 cm on each side to prevent it from interfering with the cables.

How to use it?

Discover our Bikejor Max canicross bar; it uses exactly the same system as in this video, with a shorter U-shaped rod.

What’s the difference between the Bikejor Max and the Bikejor Max UL?

The only difference concerns the length of the mounting system:
Bikejor Max: compatible with frames whose usable head tube length is between 40 and 70 mm.
Bikejor Max UL: compatible with frames whose usable length is between 40 and 170 mm thanks to its longer mount.
If your bike is compatible with both models, we recommend the Bikejor Max.

The branches of the U-shaped stem extend several centimeters beyond my installation. Is this normal?

The required length varies depending on the bicycles. We recommend cutting off the excess with a hacksaw, ensuring that approximately 1–2 cm extends beyond the nuts.

Is the Bikejor Max compatible with electric bikes?

This depends on the dimensions and shape of the head tube. Some very large frames may not be compatible.
If in doubt, refer to the dimensional drawing on the product page.

Is the Bikejor Max compatible with city bikes, gravel bikes, and hybrid bikes?

In many cases, yes. These bikes generally have a thinner head tube than mountain bikes. It is then possible to compensate for the looseness by adding one or more layers of inner tube between the frame and the mount.

Is the Bikejor Max suitable if my dog doesn’t run in front of the bike?

The Bikejor Max was designed for sport use, with the dog running in front of the bike.
If your dog mainly stays beside or behind you, this system is not suitable. In that case, we recommend using a system specifically designed for this purpose.
